If you aren't quite ready to purchase a home, INHP’s Homebuyer Preparation Program may be right for you. This advising program will help you get your finances in order and will teach you about the homebuying process. Here's what you can expect:
ATTEND AN ASSESSMENT
After you complete the online portion of the assessment, an INHP advisor will analyze your credit history by pulling a tri-merge credit report and determine if INHP's Homebuyer Preparation Program is the right fit for you.
LEARN ABOUT FINANCES
As part of the Homebuyer Preparation Program, you’ll attend two classes – one about budgeting and the other about credit. You’ll learn about financial planning and the documentation needed for the mortgage application.
WORK WITH AN ADVISOR
Based on your goals and your financial situation, you’ll work with your advisor to reduce debt, save for a down payment and eliminate credit barriers. On average, clients work with an advisor for six to 24 months.
LEARN HOW TO BUY
The next step is to attend a class about the homebuying process. You’ll learn about the importance of a real estate agent, home insurance, a home inspection and how to get ready for closing.
GRADUATE TO LENDING
After you complete the program, you’ll meet an INHP loan officer who can help you find affordable loan options.
