INHP selects eight grantees to receive funding for neighborhood development initiatives
$900,000 to be awarded across Marion County
INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 29, 2025) – The Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership® (INHP) announces eight neighborhood-serving organizations receiving grants to support their affordable housing preservation and development efforts, and collaborations for enhancing affordable housing in Indianapolis. Called the Indianapolis Neighborhood Development Initiative (INDI), this year’s program will distribute $900,000 total to these organizations, which will support their efforts in developing or preserving 216 affordable housing units in Marion County.
The 2025 INDI program grantees include:
- Community Action of Greater Indianapolis
- Mapleton-Fall Creek Development Corporation
- Martindale Brightwood Community Development Corporation
- Near Eastside Collaborative Partnership (Near East Area Renewal, Englewood Community Development Corporation, John Boner Neighborhood Centers)
- Near North Development Corporation
- Shepherd Community Center
- Southeast Neighborhood Development
- Westside Community Development Corporation.
“The INDI grants provide our partners with a firm foundation so they can direct focus on increasing the number of affordable housing options in the neighborhoods they serve,” said Gina Miller, president and CEO of INHP. “These organizations are well equipped to continue to provide our City with more options to call home, and we look forward to collaborating as they reach their goals.”
Grant criteria include:
Community need: A defined affordable housing challenge will be addressed.
Impact: Emphasis on substantive affordable housing production or preservation.
Leverage: Ability of the applicant to attract other capital sources to support their housing activities.
Partnerships: Level of engagement in city initiatives and/or other partnerships that achieve neighborhood benefit.

Since 1999 and through the support of Lilly Endowment Inc., INHP has provided more than $29.6 million in Indianapolis Neighborhood Development Initiative grant funds to community-based organizations. This competitive application process was open to all nonprofit organizations creating or preserving affordable, sustainable housing opportunities in Marion County.
